Lenzie graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in chemistry in 1968 and attended the Siebel Institute of Brewing Technology while working as a brewing chemist in 1972. 

Lenzie's brewing career spans 38 years and includes Chemist and Assistant Brewmaster positions at Blitz-Weinhard, Supervisor, Technical Administrator, and Area Manager at Miller Brewing Company, Brewing Manager at Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, and Plant Manager at the Celis Brewery. 

In addition to having hands-on technical and managerial experience in both large and small breweries, Lenzie has many years of experience doing engineering, construction management, and consulting for the brewing industry.
